Collection of Reunion Photos
Pete Bayuga and Olympic Flame
Heard from Pete Bayuga, after a loooong while! Nice going, Pete. Hope you can do this for our next reunion in Baguio, probably five or ten years from now! Here is a transcription of the yellowing newspaper clipping:
OLYMPIC FIRE NEARING JOURNEY
The sacred Olympic Flame left Manila yesterday, flown to Hong Kong on the penultimate stage of its historic journey from Mt. Olympus to Tokyo for the 1964 Olympic Games.
A new set of nine runners ferried the symbolic fire to the Manila International Airport from the Rizal Football Stadium where it was enshrined early Thursday evening.
Antonio de las Alas, PAAF president, returned the last torch to Fumio Takashima, chief of the 12-member Japanese relay, and thanked him on behalf of the Filipino people for including the Philippines in the flame’s route….

Ay, ay salidummay... for Class 61
MESSAGE – Evelyn Domingo-Barker. Bonding and Dinner, Class 61. Baguio Central School. May 5, 2011
Hello Classmates,
Instead of an “INSPIRATIONAL MESSAGE” as indicated in our program for tonight, for you will be hearing from me on other nights, please allow me to substitute the message with two things, One, I produced a wall quilt. I would kindly request each one of you to sign and place a message if you so wish, anywhere on the quilt. I have a special fabric pen for the purpose.
The intention is to have this wall quilt hang in the Balay Ti Alumni. It serves as one of our souvenirs of our golden alumni homecoming. For our other classmates who will eventually be visiting Baguio and the Balay, they are enjoined and invited to sign also on the quilt.
Second: participating in an age-old tradition of this region. For those of you who are not BIB, or Born in Baguio, a canao is held as a gathering of the community to celebrate a wedding, funeral, thanksgiving or some other worthy event. And in the canao, in addition to the loads of food presented, songs and dances are held.
One tradition is the recitation of the principal member being honored, with the rest responding with AY AY SALIDUMMAY, SALIDUMAY DI WAY. So in this way, let us honor our Class 61, IN NO PARTICULAR ORDER.
